NSW Battery Incentives Opens 1st September

ClubCOLLECTIVE September 2026

From 1 September, the NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme extends to commercial battery storage. For clubs, it is the biggest change to the storage business case in years.

On a commercial tariff, a large share of your bill is set not by total energy use, but by your worst half hour of demand. Club demand peaks in the evening, after solar has finished, so an array alone does little to that charge. Storage is the piece that addresses it.

The scheme pays for demand reduction, not for owning a battery, so your load profile decides the value. A minimum customer contribution applies, and the incentive is claimable once per site, so sizing matters.

Request twelve months of interval data first, as it can take weeks to arrive.

We have built a calculator for NSW clubs: https://www.zoolenergy.com.au/nsw-battery-rebate-calculator

Send us your interval data and we will model your venue, at no cost.
