Club York owes its iconic name to the bustling street running parallel to Queen Victoria Building and Sydney’s lauded shopping district.
The renowned venue engaged Paynter Dixon – a long-standing partner – to construct a new bar for the Primi Italian restaurant.
Boasting a menu of flavours and culinary traditions from all around Italy, Primi Italian has received the Travelers’ Choice Award for two years running.
The restaurant is located on the ground floor of the city-based club with an entrance onto Clarence Street, and further access via the club’s main entrance on York Street.
Showcasing marble and brass fittings, the premium-appointed bar complements the warmth and charm of the restaurant.
Staff were able to maintain full restaurant service and operations during construction works, thanks to the implementation of a staged construction program and staggering the work hours of the site team.
The bar was completed to schedule and just in time for the 2023 Melbourne Cup.
Club York has engaged Paynter Dixon to undertake major refurbishments in recent years, including the chic Zabou Bar.
